Re: Drop the Celebrities from the Dandy Facebook Group

Just a gentle reminder to Scoobie to reread the new Forum Rules, and to remember that all posts are now being monitored by one administrator or other. Two insults in twenty-five words is two too many. Under all his posts Tin Can Tommy asks people nicely to refer to him as Tin Can , rather than Tomm...

Very true, Tommy, very true. Maybe Whizzboy's true calling is in the market research industry, and then he could find out how it all works.

Re: Dandy Thread - Deleted Post

Without going over old ground, as in I've been unable to defend myself when he mentioned me directly in that rant due to being banned, I think now that you all know what he's capable of and I shall refrain - completely - from any incendiary comments in the future. I still don't want the guy banned, ...

Re: This week's issue Take 2

Well they weren't advertised (which is part of what we've been complaining about), so I'm assuming it's warehouse clearance again, and what we get is random. Nothing like complaining about something that's not even out on the streets yet. Any chance that this sort of blatant assumptions could be cu...

Re: This week's issue

You do realise that's a Dandy artist you're talking to? :P And your point is, caller? Some interesting points from Swirly up there which are worthy of its own thread. I have started a new thread using Swirly's original post as a starter, under a topic called Adverts in the Beano (http://comicsuk.co...

Re: This week's issue

No it isn't. I was being honest and forthright. Who wants to read all that? It's ridiculous and it's completely off-topic as well. Start a new thread with it or don't bother. I've not been here for over 3 weeks, a promise I made to one of the administrators, but I can't let that pass. And if that's ...

Re: This week's issue

I was a bit narked by the "free poster" thing as well! Lately, the Beano's been going out of its way to make adverts come across as normal parts of the comic, and frankly I'm not surprised even five-year-olds aren't fooled. Has anyone else noticed that most recent issues of the Beano (those which c...

Re: This weeks Dandy

I like the Beano's solution, if I can't exactly see how it would be transferable to the Dandy. Slanting up the descender of the Y, perhaps? At the very least, I hope they do something soon, because it's getting annoying. The Dandy logo doesn't have a descender. It's all caps. And they're deliberate...

Re: 2012 Annuals

What we're actually paying for is the bag of junk Nobody's forcing you to buy the product. If you don't like it, don't buy it. If you bought a pencil and you hated it, would you go on a Pencil Forum to complain about it? Take refuse to Edding, Derwent or Staedtler to force them to your way of think...

Re: 2012 Annuals

I wouldn't mind the expensive issues so much if DC Thomson didn't go out of their way to make my life a misery. Woa! Must add Paranoia to the ever increasing list of attributes of your flimsy nature. However, if that is a policy of DC Thomson to personally go out of their way to make your life a mi...
