HARRY HARGREAVES

I recently picked up some 'Harold Hares' and was surprised to see early work by Tom Kerr, who went on to do comedy strips such as Sgt Bilko and Doctor In The House. I was curious who the other artists are (apart from those who signed their work, like Hugh McNeill, Peter Woolcock and Mendoza) and heard the name Harry Hargreaves mentioned. Does anyone know what he drew? Also, who did 'Moony'?

Harry Hargreaves is the author of the 'Hayseeds' comic strip as well as 'Ollie' and 'the bird set'. His most famoius works are the 'bird' cartoons issued as books by MacMillan. Tony

He also did Paddington Bear, drew the pictures for a version of Wind in the Willows and did Discs-a-gogo for the tv.
