I really like that they have left the colour in (all that blood ) and we finally get to see what would have happened in the October 23rd and 30th issues
if you have not got a copy yet I would highly recommend getting one
best price at the moment is at wordery https://wordery.com/hook-jaw-archive-pa ... 15a0f5a285
I think those unpublished strips have previously been published in Martin Barker's book Action: The Story of a Violent Comic (also published by Titan, but long out of print).
ok thanks for the info
every time i have tried to get Action: The Story of a Violent Comic on ebay it has been way out of my price bracket at £100 plus
Its a great book and was actually remaindered at the time as I bought a number of copies for £1 each at Works, all now long consigned to eBay - though nowhere near £100!
Its not particularly rare though and if you setup an alert to your mobile for when the next few are listed at BINs you should be able to get one for around the £30 mark if you're willing to wait a while.
Another 259 Commandos were delivered today. I am closing in on the 4000 issue mark. In fact, this lot should put me only 25 away from that magic number.
I started to say something sensible but my parents took over my brain!
Bought a fair few things over the past few weeks, in no particular order with prices if I can remember off the top of my head;
Thunder comic 1-3 £10
1st Tiger Football Special £10
1st Battle SS with Lion SS 1975 £14
1973 Valiant SS
1st Dandy/Beano SS 1963 £440
1st three 1960s TV21 SS - plus the free gifts that go with the Stingray special
The free gift fabric badge from TV21 #2
Boys World #1 £10
Buzz #1 with free gift
So a fair few summer specials and just things that catch my eye and some that I've never had before.
Had lunch with Malcolm Phillips from Compal yesterday and picked up my recent purchases......love them! All #1s or one shots from the 40s including Denis Gifford's first published work (Big Little Comic) which he has signed and Cheery comic totally drawn by Reg Carter along with Merry Maypole who's back cover is soooo racist from 1949!
Four days holiday in Ingoldmells from a car boot sale got
JEFF ARNOLD in the Bozeman trail by Charles Chilton (a RIDERS of the RANGE strip book) by permission Eagle.(1954?) 50p
Found a music/comic shop in Mablethorpe main street with mainly DC/Marvel main character comics.
and got 80's comics Conan, King Conan and Jonah Hex.
Earlier on holiday got a Sock Monkey comic a fun black/white nonsense adventure that I like, to add to
one I have at home.
A day or two before leaving to go on holiday had bought 80's comics Capt America and also the Silver Surfer.

Complete year of Tiger and Jag from 1970. Superb condition, clean and bright. Just proves that comics won't deteriorate much with "age related wear" if they're looked after properly.
(I had those issues originally but sold them about 35 years ago. The price and condition was too good to resist replacing them.)

I should meet this man as my main collecting is of British First Issues although I bet his collection is pretty impressive as he is a born collector!
