Got a bound volume of Union Jack, nos. 1 - 40 from 1/1/1880. The boards are in a terrible state, but the comics are OK.
Re: What comics did you buy today?
Also got the final 2 Famous Knockout cards I needed for the full set from the Rocket comic.

Well the con is not even open and I have already depleted my funds!
I picked up 6 Sexton Blake Libraries from the 1950s, two graphic novels (Paradise Lost and Behind The Curtain) and the rough for the art for the British Comics Swapmeet in September.

I started to say something sensible but my parents took over my brain!

I've got #1 of that series of Rocket but no others. You very rarely see them up for sale. I've also got the set of cards as well along with a few doubles. I've got the full set of the 1956 version of The Rocket but still haven't got around to reading them yet.koollectablz wrote:Have you got the comics as well?Hawkeye wrote:Also got the final 2 Famous Knockout cards I needed for the full set from the Rocket comic.

Nice one. Sounds the kind of thing that could do with being re-bound.Hawkeye wrote:Got a bound volume of Union Jack, nos. 1 - 40 from 1/1/1880. The boards are in a terrible state, but the comics are OK.

They certainly could, where would you suggest, I've never had any done before.Adam Eterno wrote:Nice one. Sounds the kind of thing that could do with being re-bound.Hawkeye wrote:Got a bound volume of Union Jack, nos. 1 - 40 from 1/1/1880. The boards are in a terrible state, but the comics are OK.

Look in the relevant section of your local Yellow Pages. There should be several offering their skills.Hawkeye wrote:They certainly could, where would you suggest, I've never had any done before.

Koollectablz started a thread entitled "Good Titles to Bind" or something very similar. He recommended http://www.hollingworthmoss.co.uk/comic-binding.html and although I haven't sent anything to them yet, I will do soon. You're probably talking £35-£40 as an estimate.Hawkeye wrote:They certainly could, where would you suggest, I've never had any done before.Adam Eterno wrote:Nice one. Two more great Holiday Specials in Victor 1967, the first one and Valiant 1973 meaning I only need a couple more for the whole lot.
Cheers Kollectablz!
