OK, this is an blog post that is part information and part plea for help. If folk can have a look and help me to identify artists, it will be appreciated.

As a bonus, I have included a complete Simon Gaunt story that Carlos Ezquerra illustrated.

I'm pretty sure the artist on 'Frail Johhny' is Tony Harding, of 'Look Out for Lefty' fame.

Lew, I think you have got is spot on for Johnny Frail. I had the suggestions of Mike White and Jim Eldridge, but all the tells point towards Tony Harding. I will give this 24 hours for anyone to prove you wrong, but I am almost 100% that you have got it.

Shaqui did save me hours of torment by telling me that Felix Carrion was the artist for The Red Reiver.

Hi Col,
Two of the missing artists are Doug Maxted, by no means at his best, and the old fashioned looking one is a veteran of Dandy No1 and many a Thomson story paper since 1936, George Ramsbottom.

Is that Doug Maxted illustrating Jaguar Jones? And thank you for letting me know that it is George Ramsbottom's style.

Thanks for the help Ray. Between you, Shaquille, Jeremy Briggs and John Freeman, I end up writing a half decent blog!

And my latest post has just been featured by Carlos Ezquerra on his facebook feed. I am kind of happy about that to say the least. :-)

And the next post is up for anyone who likes to look at things from a slightly different angle. Proof read by Bill Graham for factual mistakes. Any other mistakes are purely the result of my take on things. Plus any article that allows you to say Big Willi has to make you smile. :D

And staying on the Big Willi theme, I have just put an article up regarding the artists of this story. So if anyone can have a look and help me out, it would be appreciated.

For those of us that remember Warlord, here is a look at issue 1 that was on the news stands 41 years ago.

I'm on a roll now. I have now posted my latest article about Brian Bolland's only work for D C Thomson.

Excellent. I'd heard of 'The Box' but never actually seen it. Unmistakably Brian's style, though it's interesting how similar his inking was to Massimo Belardinelli in those days.

I've never seen this early Bolland piece, either---great historical value.

His stuff reminded me of a 'darker Dave Gibbons' here.
