I think it's more likely to be because that issue was printed in America and it was cheaper to use the standard U.S. format.

I've just seen the Leopard from Lime Street book by the way. I think everyone will be very pleased with it when it comes out in July.
oh Lew you are such a tease #jealous
Sorry, didn't mean it as a tease. Just to put people's minds at rest that those classic strips are in safe hands. These are the sort of books that should have come out 20 years ago but better late than never.

Just got an email saying the One Eyed Jack book is on its way...

Hopefully rolls up by the weekend to give me something to read in the garden rather than cutting the grass.

I wonder will Rebellion hold back on advising on the next batch of their Classic British comic books until they see how One eyed Jack, Leopard etc sell over the summer.

Looking forward to One Eyed Jack which is due very shortly

I've got extremely fond memories of this, I remember very distinctly removing the mini pull out comic from Buster and putting it together, I even put clear sticky back plastic over the front and back cover.

Although the 'ripoff' of spider-man was very apparent, even at the time to me, I preferred it as it was far more British and really chimed with my life.

Really looking forward to it!

Nice review I have mine ordered. Funnily enough I wasn't very familiar with American comics, until watching animated series on tv, so if I'm remembering right I would have read Leopard from Lime Street, before I knew about Spiderman!

I'm also looking forward to Marney the Fox, which I haven't read before and the new Misty collection.

I was wondering how Lew was going to get around his past comments on the Beast of Selbridge. Can't wait for my copy.

I didn't suspect there would be that interest in Marney in this grim'n'gritty age. Although I can't say it's for me. A little too gentle for my tastes. But I'm glad there's an audience.

Not a case of getting around it. I was genuinely impressed and "converted" by the Leopard from Lime Street stories now I've seen more of them. If I hadn't enjoyed it I'd have said something like "It's not for me but I know it'll appeal to fans of the strip".

As for Marney, that's the one I'm looking forward to the most. Incredible artwork by John Stokes, and a nice story that should appeal to today's children as much as it did in the '70s. (I believe the book will feature all of the strips.) I think Marney has the potential to appeal to girls as well as boys, as opposed to the testosterone heavy One-Eyed Jack (which is great, but more for lads).

I always thought Marney wouldn't have been out of place in a girls comic such as Tammy etc,so hopefully this will get a few more ladies down the collected graphic novels route and rebellion can collect more stories other than Misty ones.

Sid, If it is up to the same quality of "O E Jack" I will not be disappointed. I'm particularly looking forward to " Faceache" and Marney in hardback.
