All-New Roy of the Rovers Graphic Novels

Post by SID »

I hear that Roy Race is getting a reboot in a new series of graphic novels later on in the year.

Who will be buying?
Reading comics since 1970. My Current Regulars are: 2000 AD (1977-), Judge Dredd Megazine (1990-), Spaceship Away (2003-), Commando (2013-), Monster Fun (2022-), Deadpool and Wolverine (2023-), Quantum (2023-).

There was a full page ad in 2000ad fcd special on sat you saw a pic of Roy from the back but from that it looks akin to the bad art from the monthly's with rocky before it ended.I'd rather a new comic than an expensive graphic novel 4 times a year.but i will probably have to buy them.

That's where I saw it, Bri.

Not sure myself. I appreciate Roy but never been a fan. However, I may get the first to see what the story is like.

The line "no money, no players, no hope" in that teaser ad makes it sound worryingly grim'n gritty, like American comics of the 90s. I just hope they haven't gone the whole hog and hired Rob Liefeld to draw it; Roy's famous left foot would be in real trouble, then!

Remember no feet because 'drawing is hard'

That is still one of my favourite things on the internet. God, that man is a terrible artist.

I'm no expert on comic art but I remember disliking his stuff from the first time I saw it.

I actually like Rob liefeld's art he is a lot more talented than some of the current marvel & DC artists.
