I can't reveal it until Rebellion do, but it's not Frankie or Jasper as at present they're owned by Time Inc. who sadly have no plans to reprint UK comic strips. (Any books that appear to be so are unofficial.)

I cant see them doing just a poster book.

Rebellion only own material that was published post-1970, so unfortunately can't publish anything from Wham, Smash, or Pow.

An art book of his grotesque full page illos would be great, I think.

Queen of the Seas was a reprint from Smash, so Rebellion can't use that I'm afraid.

Yes, as the editor has mentioned it when he posted a comment on my blog, I guess it's ok to reveal that it's going to be Creepy Creations, and later they'll be doing World Wide Weirdies.

Oh that's excellent. I wonder if they'll have to copy them from the printed comics though? If so the colouring could make it difficult to produce really sharp copies.

I think all their books are scanned from the comics (but they look great). Unfortunately, IPC destroyed a load of artwork years ago, and the remnants were sold off. Hopefully Creepy Creations will be in colour.

(It's a shame Ken didn't ask for his artwork back when Buster were returning it. As I've said before, I had all of my pages back - and Fleetway paid for postage, - and so did another artist, - Tom Paterson I think, - but none of the old guard of artists wanted theirs returned. I guess they'd been conditioned to believe it had no worth. )

Hmmmm, personally I think this is a misstep, as much as I like his posters as a fan, I can't see the market for this in the 'real world'.

At most this'll be exactly the kind of book that the average person picks up, flips through, smiles at a few pages then replaces never to be looked at again.

I'm quite surprised they've been picked tbh, but then once you get past the fact they don't have the rights for the readable stuff previously mentioned I guess that's what you're left with. Pity.

Except that I've sold loads of my Tom pages on eBay so they'd have to scan from the comics anyway.
