PLUG'S ILLEGITIMATE SISTER

[Old Forum Fella]

Obviously everyone knows what an ugly so-and-so Plug is from the Beano's 'Bash Street Kids' from D.C. Thomson. His face is unmistakable. However, in the early 1980s, rival IPC comic Jackpot ran a similar strip called 'Top of the Class', which featured a lanky girl with Plug's face. It was an exact copy. Must have been an in-joke from the artist. Wonder whether anybody else ever noticed this? As a kid, I remember not understanding how Plug had a sister in a rival comic! (P.S. There's a good pic of 'Plug's sister' on the front of the 1984 Jackpot annual.)

I just saw that on Comics UK, woah, they do look alike. It would be funny if she turned up in an issue of the Beano.

Class 3X from creature teacher were based on Bash Street coz they had...the one who always had his hood up (Danny)...the one with the big lip and buck teeth (Plug...One girl (Toots)...the spikey haired one (Sidney)... The one with the jumper up to his nose (Wilfred)...The fat one (Fatty)...and Teacher (Teacher!)
