Those square sausages you get north of the border will surely help!

"I am also aware that I am not as much of a guru as I would like to be" Does that make you a trainee Guru?

I'm glad you found out what you needed. You missed out Paw for the Picture Libraries, who's helped me with info as well as a few others on this board.

Next question to test the Forum's grey cells?

No, they just help you to grow at the waistline!

Yes, that's true as Paw's knowledge on European comics, Thriller and Western PLs is one that I am cherry picking all the time. Mind you he gets his own back by sending me down rabbit holes that I have been avoiding for ages.

Assuming that you read every single post, Col, I don't see how you could possibly have reached that conclusion. Furthermore, I doubt whether Kashgar would agree with your assertion either, unless by 'an expert on the rest of DCT' you are referring solely to the company's humour comics, where he is certainly the top man. I suspect that he and I are equally confident in our knowledge of both their text and picture story titles for boys, since I am pretty certain that we both have virtually all of the latter. However, where the full range of the company's eleven titles for girls is/are concerned, he did not collect them for anything like their full runs, perhaps mainly because he was buying JUNE on a weekly basis, and I think I'm right in saying SCHOOL FRIEND too. Our late friend Colin Morgan was certainly buying those titles. As with all of us in those early days, the amount of available cash was far from plentiful, so choices had to be made, but we made up ground when we had paid jobs. It was only at that point that I was regularly in a position to find the return rail fare to London in order to go to Norman Shaw's house in Belvedere Road near Crystal Palace. My collection of Thomsons' comics for girls started later, and was sourced from elsewhere.

The accolade of 'Guru' was not one we gifted to ourselves. It was kindly bestowed upon us by others as an acknowledgment of our willingness to share the fruits of our own labours in the field of comic collecting. In that regard I must be seen as something of a 'lapsed' guru here on comicsuk as, due to commitments elsewhere and despite visiting the site usually on a daily basis, I rarely contribute in the way that I once did.
In the last 45 years I have always been a collector first and foremost and it was always my collection that fuelled my inquisitive mind to learn more about those that created the comics I loved to collect.
Derek certainly has more individual Thomson girls paper titles than me, my collection mainly focussing on the early years, so I would happily own to his superior knowledge of the contents of those titles and, similarly, his knowledge of the Thomson boys' papers, pre 1945, is second to none.

Oh, I don't see why not, given that we've been friends for many a long year. Go for it!
