Rare D C Thomson / John Leng Books Update

Post by booksandcomics »

Hello all,

Just to drag something up from past discussions, I've had a good recent breakthrough in finding images of some of the rarest D C Thomson & John Leng books. I'm running a fan group over on Facebook, attempting to create an updated version of the Lofts & Adley dating guide.

Images below are taken from newspaper adverts found via the British Newspaper Archives. Please message if you have an actual copy of any of these, it would be great to see them in full colour.

We now have a full run of images for titles such as Billy & Bunny Book, Take Me!, Toddler's Treasure, Tell us a Story, Happy Girls Book, Wendys Story Book etc.

I posted the set from my ollection in 2016 not realising there were different issues, I will have to dig them out of the cupboard and check which ones I have got.

Going through old DC Thomson women's papers like Family Star, Red Letter and Red Star Weekly I've noticed a few adverts for Willie Waddle books.

yep, you're looking for 8 books in total - good luck with your (updated) search - especially if, like me, you wanted un-price clipped dustjackets on each volume
