Discuss or comment on Britain's sole surviving boy's comic from the 1970's. The home of Judge Dredd, Slaine, Nikolai Dante, ABC Warriors and Sinister Dexter. Has been running since 1977.
Being a long term Squaxx dek Thargo, I was really pleased when 2000AD announced that Flesh was coming back and that it will be a direct sequel to the original strip (one of the reasons why I liked 2000AD in the first place).
FYI, this is what I got from the 2000ADOnline website:

Flesh Returns!
Head back to the Cretaceous as the dinosaur-farming cowboys of Trans-Time return for Flesh: Texas, a new series by Pat Mills and James Mckay, starting in 2000 AD Prog 1724, on sale 9 March 2011. Set directly after the events of the very first series, with the Trans-Time base destroyed by Old One-Eye's rampage, Boots McGurk and the rest of the survivors must herd their stock across dangerous terrain to Texas – but T. Rex Gorehead has other ideas...
I can't wait!

True vintage Flesh gore. :)
Reading comics since 1970. My Current Regulars are: 2000 AD (1977-), Judge Dredd Megazine (1990-), Spaceship Away (2003-), Commando (2013-), Monster Fun (2022-), Deadpool and Wolverine (2023-), Quantum (2023-).
About time as well....this was miles more entertaining than Spielberg's Jurassic Lark. I.ll never forget the ultra-bizarre image of three time-travellers who got their genes crossed with a T REX, then re-materialized as a mutated abomination in the 'arrival bay' in the 23rd Century......
---this was [rightly dubbed as THRILL OVERLOAD at the time......]
And I have now read the first instalment and it looks pretty good.
I must admit I need to get used to the artwork but the new T-Rek looks pretty good.
I love the fact that they are using the original 'Flesh' logo.
And the wrap-around cover doesn't hurt either.

For the benefit of the uninitiated, here's the utterly scrotnigFLESH cover from the early [1977] period of 2000 AD: featuring the nightmarish fusion between dinosaur and men:
All this time [over 30 years!] and I never realized until today that it was a BOLLAND-nibbed cover.....must've been amongst his earliest works for the comic............
I'd only just stopped getting Tooth, I may have to buy the first part of this and see how it pans out.
My brother used to get it in 1997, when the free facsimilie of issue 1 was bundled with an issue. Flesh was probably our favourite story in it... it had the most blood!
And I think Vegas Carter is a mighty fine woman. Far prettier than Earl Reagan.

Now that it has finished its run for the time being, what did people think of the new 'Flesh'?

that came with 2000AD - or did I dream that?
Ian, you didn't dream it. I remember playing it with my cousin many moons ago. I now wince at the thought of how many comics we had to cut up to play the game.
I started to say something sensible but my parents took over my brain!
