Grant Morrison M.B.E!
It's been reported that Grant Morrison is to be awarded the M.B.E for services to film and literature, which is a bit of a surprise. Grant has mostly been working for American publishers since the late eighties, and when he was writing for British comics on a regular basis, he caused a certain amount of controversy with St. Swithin's Day, a story about a young man (supposedly Grant himself) planning to assassinate Margaret Thatcher (which caused questions to be asked in the House), not to mention The New Adventures of Hitler. Could Her Majesty be a closet Morrison fan?

I doubt it, but her grandchildren may have heard of him. I presume none of them have read Bryan Talbot's anecdote about Grant in 'The Naked Artist'. (No, Grant wasn't the naked artist in question. Far worse! I just hope he doesn't wear the infamous white suit for the ceremony. )tony ingram wrote:Could Her Majesty be a closet Morrison fan?
Some of us tried to nominate another important figure in UK comics a year or two ago but the honours list people ignored it.
I reckon Grant used his magic powers to swing it in his favour.

A good reason for scrapping the honours system?
