Help with another unidentified artist

Post by RuthB »

Then again, I have another storie published in Spain and I think I have seen this one in one of my annuals but hell if I can find it!

Maybe this time I'll be lucky and somebody might recognize the style so I can dig some more information...

The only UK artist it reminds me of is John Richardson, perhaps trying to emulate a European style, but it probably isn't him.

This one puzzles me but the one that annoys me more is Moana Lisa that published in ShSh. Looks by Mansbridge and at the same time it does not and it is not credited to him, so it is not his because his drawings are all listed!

Looks like John Richardson to me too. There is some of his humour art here, NSFW http://illustrationartgallery.com/cgi-b ... TION=Go%21

No, not Torregrosa. Different style under my eyes as I am familiar with his work. I am more inclined to believe it could be John Richardson...

Perhaps the artist is not Torregrosa but... Why do you think it is Richardson? I don't think so. The style is different. Must be another artist.

Im not sure at all about the other artist. But the style is similar. There are no references to that drawing in any of the pages with information about his artwork but he did work for Bunty or one of those

I have always considered Moana Lisa to be by Norman Mansbridge. But what is ShSh?

I agree with Antoniomn, doesn't quite ring as John Richardson to me either. I used to have his studio brochure and he shows his different styles from realistic to cartoon, and none here strike me as similar. His book on drawing for comics expands on that, again pointing to me that this is not his work.
