I have admired - in fact, been dazzled by - this Argentinian artist's work since I first saw it in the final issue of RAW.

I now have the recent IDW collection of his strip "Alack Sinner" and it mentions he worked for UK comics in the early 1970s.
I did a search on here and I found that Philcom55 cited him as the artist on "Lost in Limbo Land" in Lion.
I wonder if Phil or anyone else can tell me more or even share a sample?

According to Steve Holland's Lion: King of Picture Story Papers, "Lost in Limbo Land" ran from Oct. 13, 1973 to Dec. 8, 1973. It was scripted by Christopher Lowder.

However, this is not the only strip Jose Munoz drew in Lion. Here's a list of the other titles:
- A Stitch in Time (Mar. 24, 1973 to Aug. 18, 1973)
- The Treasure-Hunt Twins (Aug. 25, 1973 to Oct. 6, 1973)
- Sark the Sleeper (Dec. 15, 1973 to May 18, 1974)

I had a poke around online, and found that at one point Munoz was an assistant to Francisco Solano López, who did a lot of work for Lion, Valiant, Buster and the like. It could well be that Munoz did uncredited work on Lopez strips, but if he did I guess we'll never know.

Munoz's own website says that he relocated from his native Argentina to London in 1972, before moving on to mainland Europe. He seems to have got work at Lion through his Lopez connection.

Alack Sinner started in 1975, and was a huge leap forward from his work for Lion.

Indeed, the first few installments of "A Stitch in Time" almost look as though they were by Solano López, which points to the influence he had on Munoz. But the latter developed his own style pretty quickly, and gradually departed from his influence over the years.

Maybe Lion specifically wanted art in the same style as Lopez's.
