Looking for scans of a Tracy story

Discuss all the girls comics that have appeared over the years. Excellent titles like Bunty, Misty, Spellbound, Tammy and June, amongst many others, can all be remembered here.

Looking for scans of a Tracy story

Post by Tammyfan »

Can anyone please provide scans of the Tracy story "I'll Get Rid of Rona!", which ran in Tracy: #43 (26 July 1980) to #53 (04 October 1980)? I have the first episode but not the others. Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you. Oh, and does anyone have any idea on who the artist is?

30th Century Comics have several of the issues, Briony, 44, 45, 47, 48 and 50. A quick phone call tomorrow should secure those at least.

I am aware of what 30th Century Comics has, but there would be costs involved, including international postage. I am checking the scan option first before pursuing that option.

To get all five would only cost £11. I don't know how much the international postage would be but I can't see it being exorbitant.

I'm not trying to be awkward, Briony, and I do understand that you would like to add a synopsis of ''I'll Get Rid Of Rona!'' to Lorraine's Girls' Comics Of Yesterday site. This is extremely laudable, and the site is highly regarded. However, you only have one of the eleven instalments so you are asking some member or other to provide you with thirty scans covering the remaining ten instalments. That's a big ask of anybody. My suggestion that you could buy 30th Century's available issues was to reduce the work and time that you are asking somebody to put in on your behalf because then you would have six of the eleven instalments, thus instantly halving the amount of effort that members would need to put in on your behalf. At that point you would almost certainly get scans of the rest from somebody.

Right, I have now secured the five issues. That leaves just 46, 49 and 51-53.

I don't have issue 52, Briony, but I will scan the other four for you this evening.

Edit:- On checking this evening, I discovered that I dealt with the salient points of this serial for you, Briony, in July 2014. You can find them in the thread Another Serial I Would Like To Have Details On.

Here are the scans, Briony, in four posts, 46, 49, 51 and 53. I don't have 52, but hopefully somebody else will be able to scan it for you. First up is issue 46.

Thank you, Phoenix! Maybe I'll find the penultimate episode at some point in the future.

To be honest, I don't think it will add anything much to what you learn from the rest because each episode is essentially self-contained. It's more a series than a serial.
