Reprints from Tammy and Jinty are on their way this summer!
Rebellion's Treasury of British Comics line will be adding two new books this summer that reprint classic strips from Jinty and Tammy...

Hooray! Reprint volumes for Jinty and Tammy at long last!
Re: Reprints from Tammy and Jinty are on their way this summ
I wonder what’s next for the Tammy and Jinty reprint volumes?
Re: Reprints from Tammy and Jinty are on their way this summ
Excellent. Though they're reprints I guess one could interpret this as a whole new lease of life for two famous British comics.

i don't own any Tammy or Jinty comics nor have i ever picked one up to flick through so ill be getting these when funds allow just like i did with the misty volumes, though i do have the whole run of that.it wold be great if rebellion could release 1 or 2 classics a month alongside their 2000ad reprints which looks like 1 a month this year.

I think they're trying to, Brian. Coming up from the Treasury of British Comics there's The Beatles Story (February), Charley's War Books 1 to 3 (April, May, June), and these two (June, July). There's also Black Max to come this year but no date for it yet.big bad bri wrote:i don't own any Tammy or Jinty comics nor have i ever picked one up to flick through so ill be getting these when funds allow just like i did with the misty volumes, though i do have the whole run of that.it wold be great if rebellion could release 1 or 2 classics a month alongside their 2000ad reprints which looks like 1 a month this year.

This will be the first time Bella’s had her very own book since “Bella’s Book of Gymnastics” in 1981. That also reprinted the first Bella story.

So happy I finally get to read Human Zoo & Land of No tears, Huge credit to Rebellion.
Also hope they release Robot who Cried, Forbidden Garden and Girl in a Bubble which all sound good. Can anyone say if they are worth reprinting.

If you want to read a sample episode and a summary of these, you can look on the Jinty blog:Retro1972 wrote:So happy I finally get to read Human Zoo & Land of No tears, Huge credit to Rebellion.

The sample episode is at the top of each post so you could just read that without spoiling the whole plot for yourself, if you prefer.
They are all worth reading; my top pick of those three would be Forbidden Garden.
jintycomic.wordpress.com/ Excellent and weird stories from the past - with amazing art to boot.

I wonder what they will do for a Tammy reprint volume? Slaves of War Orphan Farm, Katie on Thin Ice, Plain as Pearl, The Sea Witches, The Loneliest Girl in the World, My Terrible Twin, Make Your Mind Up Maggie, Olympia Jones, ET Estate, Thursday’s Child, Glenda’s Glossy Pages and The Fairground of Fear all have their possibilities. And I hope Rebellion does succeed in finding missing material and give us Cora Can’t Lose and the other unfinished Tammy stories in full!

It is exciting stuff! As someone that hasn't read a lot of IPC stuff (except for Misty) I'm excited to get my hands on some Tammy and Jinty stories.
Even if they don't find the original missing material, perhaps they could finish off the stories anyway, it may not end how the original writer intended but it could be quite interesting to see a new writer finish it off. There seems to have been plenty of ideas on how Cora Can't Lose! could have ended.Tammyfan wrote: And I hope Rebellion does succeed in finding missing material and give us Cora Can’t Lose and the other unfinished Tammy stories in full!

New writers could also finish off the other Tammy stories: No Use to Anyone; I'm Her, She's Me; Secret Sisters. Dunno what they will do for the unfinished Bella and Pampeace355 wrote:It is exciting stuff! sagas. And what will they do for artists? Most of the original artists have passed.

There are plenty of newer artists around. It'll be quite a while before any unresolved conclusions need to be drawn though. Didn't Bella run for ten years? Even if they publish one Bella volume a year it'll take ten years or more to reach that point. (Vol.1 has 96 pages, so about 30 episodes.)Tammyfan wrote:New writers could also finish off the other Tammy stories: No Use to Anyone; I'm Her, She's Me; Secret Sisters. That is two stories in one volume, 1974-1975. Some Bella stories are shorter than others. Maybe if they print two stories per volume it won't take 10 years. Be interesting when they come to the last, unfinished Bella story and see how they deal with that. There are plenty of newer artists around.
