Happy 60th Birthday Topper!

That would be a big reason. Also consider why the Art and History of the Dandy was so different from the Beano 70th birthday book - comics fans aren't a big enough market to sell a book devoted to the closed titles.
Re: Happy 60th Birthday Topper!
It could be that in a few years when it is the Beezer's birthday they might a joint book about both Beezer and Topper, instead of the Beano and Dandy book of that year.
Re: Happy 60th Birthday Topper!
I doubt if enough people remember either Topper or Beezer nowadays. Still, if they did produce a book to celebrate the anniversary it'd be nice if they could do it with an oversize volume like the recent Commando: 50 Years a Home for Heroes.

The low sales would not warrant the production costs, sadly. But well done to DC Thomson for the specials they have given us over the past few years, albeit released by other publishers.

Actually, the publisher of Maw Broon's Cookbook, The History of the Beano, The Best of Black Bob, and The Art and History of the Dandy, Waverley Books, is owned by DC Thomson.

Initially, it might seem odd to think of the comics as being fairly obscure as they lasted for so many decades. But, for most people, I suppose they just existed for that period when they got them - if they got them. So, for a typical person who read them, The Topper just existed for a year or two in 1972, when they were eight. Or for six months forty-five years ago, etc.
The Beano and The Dandy managed to be a little more ubiquitous in popular culture, with a few characters that seeped into the public imagination.
