Exactly, Lew.

As writers and artists, we've done complete stories and we're keen to do ongoing work with all of these projects. Audience receptivity will determine whether we get the go-ahead for the complete stories and subsequent work. Which is why I ended episode 1 of Supercats with a dramatic cliffhanger, in the traditional 'Dr Who' fashion!

As for the casting of Supercats, if you're really interested.

HELEN - Gemma Arterton, HERCULA - Chloe Moretz, FAUNA - Felicity Jones, and ELECTRA - Talulah Riley.

Which probably reveals more about me than it should! :)

( Actually, it's more to do with being able to hear voices to make the dialogue convincing ).

As the publisher is making the mag. available for i devices, with no mention of suitability for the android platform, it looks like anyone who has gone the sensible android route for a tablet will be unable to access the comic. A bit unfortunate for the creators and for thousands like me. There probably is a away to convert but there's a fair chance it is beyond my limited capabilities. Anyway, if I am buying, the publisher should do the work.
Is is only me or is the art for Supercats a bit cartoony and nothing like as glamourous as tht original. I know this is a modern take, but isn't the look of these characters so much a part of the appeal of the strip?

Thank you, Lew. Interesting review. The art is not to my taste but I would like to support the effort. Unfortunately, there seems no way to download the strip to my tablet, which I use for all my e-comic reading. I - tunes is for a Mac or P.C. With comic sites such as comixology and Izneo, it is a simple matter to buy the issue and download direct to tablet. So, I'm still stuck.
In my, admitedly limited, experience, many tablet users avoid, or do not want to use I-Tunes. Seems to be limiting potential audience by not offering an android ap. But I could be missing some techy point here - I often do.

Bump!

'Supercats,' written by me with art by Fanny M. Bystedt is in the current issue of COMIC REVIEW, available online. Free to subscribers, 99p to everyone else. The strip went in a week earlier than anticipated, so I'm sorry for the late heads up, but I only found out yesterday! It'll show up in the print edition in the next couple of months.

:)

Look forward to your reviews!

I don't have an ipad so won't be able to read these 5 pagers. A shame really as Smasher and Supercats look interesting.

Why weren't they allowed to be printed in SFX instead?

The Smasher strip is printed in the current issue of Comic Heroes that came out in April:

It's usually displayed near SFX in Smiths.

Yes, digital first and then print - for Smasher, Supercats and the others. Ours is not to reason why...
