Fantasy Football League - 2011/12

Post by Al »

The start of the English Premier League season is just around the corner (13th August start) and I have setup a new Fantasy Football League on the official site again at http://fantasy.premierleague.com/.

So for those people wishing to pit their managerial prowess against fellow Comics UK members, this is a chance to shine. You just know Sir Alex is quaking in his shoes :D

Here is what you need to do to join the league.

1: Create your team

2: Click on the Leagues tab

3: Click on the 'Join a league' link

4: Press the 'Private league' radio button --> Next

5: Enter this number 344579-127221 in the Private league code box -->

6: Press the Join Private League button

7: You will now be a member of the Comics UK league.

We had 9 members last year....can we get into double figures this year?

Hope to see you there,

Al

We've made it to three so far...
I started to say something sensible but my parents took over my brain!

Make that four. And if you entered last year, all you have to do is click on Comics UK League in the Classic Leagues category on the My Team page, you'll find that you've already been re-entered. :)

Just one week to go before the Fantasy Football season starts. We currently have 6 teams in place already. We had 9 last season, can we get to 10 this time round.

I'm just about to watch AFC Wimbledon start their football league life. Now there's a real Roy of the Rovers-type story.

Entry details above.

The Highland Valiant, with all-Scots players, are back. We had some difficulty adjusting to the pace of the game down south last year, but now we're confident of a top 10 finish this season.

I'm sticking with Princes Park, although I do wish that Mighty Mouse was available on the Fantasy Football!

That's guaranteed unless we get two more teams than last year!

I accept your challenge :D

I think I'll have a final tweak of my team with the last lot of free transfers....and then we're off!

As always my first week of Fantasy Football is a complete disaster. To be fair to my poor self I did try and transfer out de Gea and Carroll on the Friday but the 'my-team' page refused to load in. And of course both players had a nightmare.

Thames Ironworks by the way. 'Mon the Irons!

I don't like the new format what happened to the league table they had last year?

Digi's top of the league or has the most points so far.

I wasn't expecting that. I found out too late that one of my players was injured, didn't get him subbed in time. :)

EDIT: Just noticed - AndyB copied my team name! We have two Beanotown Uniteds!

I was hardly going to call it Dandytown Rovers ;) Let me guess - you also stole my strip colours?

As Bill Shankly might have said:

There are two great teams in Beanotown - Beanotown United, and Beanotown United Reserves!
'Michael Owen isn't the tallest of players, but his height more than makes up for it' - Mark Lawrenson
