Ice Hockey team wiped out in plane crash

I didn't think it was ever going to happen, but sadly, Ice Hockey has suffered a worse disaster than the 1958 Munich air crash. Whereas that time, only 8 Man Utd players were killed, this crash has killed all but one of the entire squad for Russia's Locomotiv Yaroslavl hockey team. All but one of the plane's crew was killed as well. In total, 43 people were killed. The one surviving player has 90% burns and is in a critical condition.

The Queen never travels with the next in line on the same flight for obvious reasons. Perhaps it would be sensible for sports teams to adopt the same policy.

I know a Beloryssian Ice Hockey fan who also holds Russian citizenship, he was a bit stunned to say the least, but a little philosopical too on the "don't put all your eggs in one basket" idea. Didn't a large number of Polish politicians all get killed in a crash a while ago?
