Brandon Generator

Post by nealios »

Hi guys,

Wondered if anyone had yet seen www.brandongenerator.com a new online comic series written by Edgar Wright (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the dead) and illustrated by Tommy Lee Edwards. They are looking for people to submit their own images and plot lines that will be incorporated into later episodes.

Not just the OS...
THIS SITE WORKS BEST WITH
WINDOWS INTERNET EXPLORER 9
With Internet Explorer 9 you can also access exclusive content and have Brandon's story within easy reach through pinning the page to your Windows 7 taskbar.
I don't like that. Content shouldn't be browser specific.

You can view it in other browsers, it's just optimised for IE9 which means its HTML5 compliant.

Did you submit any content?

Really? Conventionally, it means the exact opposite.

I don't watch advertisements. I don't even care if they're good advertisements, or if they have merits beyond being advertisements, the fact that they're advertisements (and therefore created with the explicit purpose of getting me to buy something) just puts me off too much.

On the other hand, dodgy companies failing to exploit the benefits of social media in their advertising and lobbying is a source of unending hilarity.

Microsoft's 'sophisticated' spamming machine continues. A modicum of content, a celeb's name and a whole parcel of contrived social media advertising from 'the team'. This stuff is old already. Look at that Facebook page and weep….

I can't help but notice that Mr. Nealios has posts in but one thread to his name on Comic Vine, Comic Forums and Comics UK - all discussing the exact same topic, in some cases using the exact same words.

I suspect Microsoft's spamming machine may be somewhat more sophisticated than MikeD thinks...
