Gareth Thomas RIP

Post by tony ingram »

Gareth Thomas, best known for playing Roj Blake in the 70s sci-fi Blake's 7, has died of heart failure. He was 71. A sad loss to the TV industry.

That is sad. I count Blake's 7 as one of the most memorable TV series that I watched as a kid. I loved Avon with his massive superiority complex!

He was also in ultra-creepy 70's ITV drama Children Of The Stones.

One of the best kids dramas ever made, in my opinion. Baffling, but wonderful.

Agreed Tony. Gareth Thomas was good in that.
Filmed in Avebury, Wiltshire. I stayed there for a weeks holiday a few years back. Very atmospheric on a misty morning.

It should still be possible to obtain Blake's Seven on DVD. I have all four series in box sets, but I have had them for a few years.

I am sorry that I missed this thread.

Gareth also did a few Big Finish Blake's 7 audios. Really good.
