GERRY ANDERSON CHARACTER BIRTHDATES

Post by stevezodiac »

I was wondering if any of Gerry Anderson's characters are due to be born in the near future. Obviously the main characters like the Tracy brothers won't be born until the late 2030s or early 2040s but I was wondering about the older characters like Grandma Tracy, Parker, Matthew Mattic and Colonel White. I have discovered that Commander Shore was born in 2015 so he will be two this year.

One website has Tracy brothers being born around 1999 to 2001ish which has to be wrong as they were in their 20s or early 30s in 2065.

just a bit of fun (I realise they are plastic puppets).

In a similar vein I've only just heard of this genuine plaque that can apparently be seen in Highgate! :)

There's one Thunderbirds episode which shows a calendar dated 2026, which led to fans thinking that the series took place 40 years before some of the others. It was mainly TV21 that created the united continuity of them all taking place in the mid-2060s, but that in itself causes problems. For example, space travel being a big deal in Thunderbirds when it's commonplace in Fireball XL5. Then there's Zero X launching in the Thunderbirds Are Go movie and of course Zero X is then in the first Captain Scarlet episode, so they're definitely connected.

Also, I think Egmont's Thunderbirds the Comic set Thunderbirds before the 2060s, and that was written by Allan Fennel who was a writer on the TV show. However, he was also the editor of TV21, which had set it in the 2060s. Confusing!

It makes more sense if Thunderbirds is set 40 years before Fireball and Stingray, but it's more fun if they're part of a shared universe.

But there were crossover stories in TV Century 21 I think they involved Stingray and Thunderbirds. Of course City magazines and Anderson shows were seperate entities.

I'm still convinced John Drake was number 6.

Yes, I said TV21 had a united continuity.

Wiki gives the Tracy family birthdays from the Thunderbirds dvd box set - it states Jeff was born on 2 January 2009.

Not surprising. It was probably written by someone who grew up on TV21.
