Go for it, Bri! I have about 500 copies and some annuals so your collection puts mines to shame: BUSTER was a brilliant comic in the 60s and early 70s especially I thought and IPC/Fleetway put out something very different compared to BEANO and DANDY : 40 years of this comic was impressive by any standards.
Loved the BUSTER BOOK OF GAGS tie-ins, I have never seen these for around 45 years.
I am sure it would be easy to write endlessly about GALAXUS, the different Buster himself artists [I liked Nadals' depiction best] or Rentaghost/ Hire a Horor [it was ONE of these anyway]--it is a case of finding the time of course.
Also loved the hangover from FILM FUN with guest caricature pages like Benny Hill, often drawn by Reg Parlett.
Yes BUSTER was perhaps the greatest of all the IPC humour titles, it was packed with Anglo-Spanish Goodness.
I had no idea the two BUSTER sites were long-gone but to be honest running a proper site like that is a massive commitment.

Here's the most recent Wayback Machine cache of that second site: http://web.archive.org/web/200605131124 ... ic.4t.com/
It's incomplete though. The other site is still up but hasn't been updated in over two years.

Back in the day, some twenty years ago, it was my own collection of Buster that Steve Holland and I used to research and produce the 'Buster Index' published by Bryon Whitworth. It is, the odd free gift notwithstanding, a complete collection of all issues including annuals and specials.

Re: Buster Comic websites
Hello everyone,
Long time no speak.
Bit of an update from me. Been meaning to do something about this for a while. Sadly, as so often happens, life gets in the way. I've still got plenty of comics to list in the page by page and strips to place pictures on etc etc, but I just don't seem to find the time.
But I don't want the site to disappear completely. So, I'm hoping to keep it alive as an archive site, not ideal for those of you who want it all complete and perfect, but better than losing it altogether - I'd personally hate for that to happen.
Full details here;

Will have a snoop around the rest of the forum at some point - apparently my last login was August 21st 2011
Frankly, I'm surprised nobody's changed the locks!

Re: Buster Comic websites
I know people have lives etc but seeing as the buster website wasn't updated in years I'm thinking of going through all my busters and whoopees etc and thinking of attempting my own web site or blog and gonna try and do page by page and a short synopsis of each story etc and then when the later years come around i can say what issue originally had the reprint story, well that's my thinking anyway i'm gonna write down in notebooks then maybe see how to go about creating my own website with my above basic computer knowledge should only take a few years , but have been sorting through the humour stuff lately and seeing as i only need 6 more whoopee i may attempt that first.bustercomic wrote:Hello everyone,

Re: Buster Comic websites
That's exactly how I started out, Bri!
Comics UK & Toonhound had sections on Buster, but not much and as a reader of the comic for 8 years, I wanted more specifically about that. The rest is history.
Page by Page launched with the ideal of looking like this http://bustercomic.co.uk/151284.html, then moved to the more abridged versions.
It's an awful lot of work, but if you're up for it then go for it! And if you do make it happen, you're welcome to use mine as a starting point (with a reciprocal link, of course!)
The Internet has changed a lot since I first set out, and it's much easier to create something in 2016 than it was back in my day (crumbs - how old do I sound?!) If I was starting out again I'd certainly make it an awful lot easier for myself!
