I was particularly pleased with that Tom Thug strip as
a) It mocked the royal family, and
b) It was too contemporary for the publishers to ever reprint.
Any other time of the year Tom Thug always "lost" every week, as his bullying schemes backfired in the mini morality plays, but the editor said that "even baddies should have a happy ending for Christmas". So the Christmas ones had a different slant to them. Always fun to do though, and I still managed to include a bit of comic violence in having Tom's Dad getting his head bashed in with a telegraph pole.
