OINK! PREVIEW ISSUE

Post by stevezodiac »

This was given away free with the 3 May 1986 issue of Whizzer and Chips in a special plastic bag which I also include here. It has a full 32 pages.

That was a later issue (No.7 I think) which was given as a free sample with Buster but which was also on sale independently. The preview issue shown by Steve was never sold separately and was only available as a free gift. It was bagged with various IPC comics the week before Oink! No.1 came out.

(As I've mentioned before, but it's worth mentioning again, the preview issue shown featured the strips that were done for the Oink dummy issue in 1984.)

Is the Tom Thug in it the very first one? It shows his dad handing over the tug mantle to Tom.

Yes, I drew that in 1984 for the dummy issue. You'll notice a slight improvement in the art style for the following issue (issue 1), because it was drawn two years later.

The comic was going to be called RRASSSP! originally, before they decided on the pig theme. (I'm not sure if that was the exact spelling.)
