Thunderbirds collection

Post by Lew Stringer »

Apologies if this has been mentioned already, but Egmont are publishing a collection of classic Thunderbirds strips in October. Hardback, 288 pages, and quite expensive at £25 RRP but I'm sure it'll be cheaper elsewhere eventually.

I'm not sure how well this book will do, considering many of the strips may have already been reprinted in the relatively-recent Century 21 books (not to mention sold by pirates on disc). Let's hope it does well enough to justify publishing similar books in the future.

Looking at the preview, that's a nice touch on the sides of the pages, it mentions the original publication dates in the same style as on the TV Century 21 covers i.e. Dateline 30 September 2067.

The bad news for some readers (those that don't own those earlier releases) is that it starts from the 13th serial, The Earthquake Maker, rather than the beginning.

What's this recent trend for reprints of reprints? Commando have 4 new books out, but all the stories were reprinted in the big 12-story books only a few years ago!

The Thunderbirds collection looks interesting. Mayhaps a Christmas present for me. :D
