Story about a couple whose garden turned blood red?

I read this around '79 in what I thought was one of the Ghost Stories softback albums but I have had both and no joy. The last panel is this oldish couple looking at their veg garden and it has turned blood red possibly due to a murder. I'm fairly sure it was in a UK publication but very likely a US reprint. Any ideas?
