Help please!
Help please!
Hi everyone. In the 80's i used to go to a newsagent and get comics that were a different size to nomal comics they were compilations of stories such as Horror or sci-fi. They were black and white with colour covers. Can anyone give me any ideas of who the publisher may have been? This is in the UK by the way?

Creepy or Eerie had a UK version for a short while. But they wouldn't be sci-fi.

L. Miller had a few titles reprinting American stories in b&w behind colour covers. Mystic; Spellbound.
Top Sellers had Fantastic Tales which had a lot of ACG reprints.
ABC had Starling Terror Tales but there was only 1 issue here. It featured in the anti horror comics campaign here.
And Miller also had a pocket library size title, Marvel Tales with American sf reprints.

It might have been Portman, a British publisher who had a go at reprinting black and white American horror comics. https://www.comics.org/publisher/4591/
Instead it might have been American publisher Eerie, who published black and white horror comics with very lurid covers.

Click on the links, then click on each title to see if any of the covers ring a bell.
More late seventies than eighties, but lots of comics hung around in those days.
