Had a lovely day at this small event down by the sea.
Star Wars and Doctor Who were the main themes for this SF Con, but there was a smattering of graphic novel stands and one guy (don't remember his name) who was selling a lot of pre fifties UK titles.
Main reason for going was that Pat Mills and Glenn Fabry were going.
Which seemed odd that, on the same weekend as the San Diego Comic Con, these two comic legends should be at a tiny event in a church hall.
Not complaining though as it meant we spent a very pleasurable afternoon nattering with Pat - mainly on Hookjaw, Flesh, and the genius of Ken Reid.
And a morning with Glenn, who spent at least an hour on each of our sketches.
Still going with my idea of an inprint character meeting an out of print one i asked for Slaine (Glenn's finest work IMO) meeting Adam Eterno, as they're both time travelling heroes who pop up just in time to fix a people's woes.
And this is what he did:
Both chuffed to bits with and amazed - Glenn only had the vaguest of memories of Adam and did this with just the one full-face reference shot i'd brought along.
He's really nailed him hasn't he? Especially the nose and chin.

Max, I really do hate you...
I started to say something sensible but my parents took over my brain!
