Anyone here attending the Lakes International Comic Art Festival this weekend? I was invited ages ago but can't make it. I've heard great things about it though and everyone I've spoken to in comics is looking forward to it.
Here's the details:

I really wish I could go.
Perhaps it's just as well, though, since I'm violently allergic to Kendal Mint Cake!

It does look good and a really lovely setting too. Maybe next year. Moving house the next weekend, so just too much for now and not commutable in a day.

A no-show from Strip's Ivo unfortunately.

Re: Lakes International Comic Art Festival
The second Lakes International Comic Art Festival is coming up soon, starting on Friday 17th October in Kendal. Friday night starts off with a talk on the Magic Of Comics by Scott McCloud, Dez Skinn talking about Doctor Who Weekly and a special showing of the Watchmen movie presented by Dave Gibbons. The rest of the weekend includes talks, films, signings and workshops with an international array of guests including Jeff Smith, Gail Simone, Joost Swarte, Becky Cloonan, Junko Mizuno, Boulet, Eddie Campbell and Audrey Niffenegger, plus plenty of UK artists and writers. There's also exhibitions of art by Doug Braithwaite, Glyn Dillon, Mizuno and Fumio Obata, and The Great War In Comics featuring original art from Charlie Adlard and Charley's War by Joe Colquhoun.

I've done some drawings for Radio 4's adaptation of Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett's Good Omens. The first will be given away on a postcard at the festival this weekend...
