Reprints are fine when collected into albums but when they take up the space of new material in a comic they deprive creators of work. That may not concern members of the public of course (work losses in the arts rarely do) but even then, some reprints can sometimes look old fashioned in style and put new readers off.

The opposite can also be true. I started buying the Megazine when they reprinted Darkie's Mob, for instance.

I will accept, whilst the 'new' Eagle, at the end, was worth it for Charley's War and MACH 1 reprints, relying heavily on reprints is a strong suggestion the comic is disappearing soon.

I went to the Festival last Saturday and loved it. Many, many top 2000AD creators there and all very approachable. Some attendees dressed up (take a bow Judge Death) and the panels were full of anecdotes. This comic remains a massive success story and clearly well loved. Another 40 years please!
