Tried several times, on computer and iPad, but eventually just received a white page with the message that the server wasn't responding. Tested the URL on those online website test sites and received mixed results. Some said the site was down, some said it was up.

In the end I cleared my cache (again) and turned my router off and on (again). I'd already done this a couple of times and it made no difference, but this time it worked! Seems fine now, although I know I'm not the only person to have had this problem over the weekend, and even if the router was the problem it doesn't explain why some of the test sites said Comics UK was "down for everyone".

I don't know anything about the technical side of stuff like that but I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation. If not, we'll blame UFOs.

I'm pleased that the problem for you has cleared up. I've checked with my hosting company and it appears they had an 'outage' issue between 15:00 and 17:00 yesterday (https://downdetector.com/status/go-daddy).

I haven't touched the site from a coding perspective, so if the above time-frame doesn't correlate to the time of your problem, then I think we'd best past the blame onto UFO intervention and SHADO.

Hi Al,
I'm afraid the site was down to me much longer than that. It lasted throughout most of the weekend, until I rectified it as explained. But I know a couple of others had the same problem.

Thanks Lew,

There have been a couple of other recent occasions (past week) where people are also unable to gain access to the website (i.e. gateway timeout).

If anyone else has been experiencing similar problems recently, please let me know and I'll have a Live Chat with my hosting company. Obviously, if you are currently experiencing access problems, you will not be reading this, but when you regain access (hopefully), please let me know that you had problems.

I know BT have had quite a few Broadband problems recently (https://www.bt.com/consumerFaultTrackin ... ?pageId=31), but this should not have affected just the Comics UK website as it did in your case Lew.

I've just checked one of those 'is it just me' wesbites (http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/) and it returned it's just you!

Maybe clearing the cache, pressing CTRL+R keys, closing and opening the browser or simply re-booting your computer may resolve the problem.

Thank you,

Al
