Beano Pin Collection

Post by stevezodiac »

I don't know if these are common knowledge but I haven't seen them mentioned here. An advert in today's Daily Star TV magazine:

Whenever I see those types of ads recently, the pins are football related (Arsenal, Liverpool, or Man Utd, each pin celebrating a major trophy). This is the first time I've seen that Beano set.

They did a Doctor Who set in a Tardis box a few months back same introductory offer, same price.

They were also a total bloody rip off. Who buys, not just one 12 quid badge, but a box full..?

Funny how they target the readers of The Daily Star first... :D

I only buy the Daily Star on Saturday for the Football and Racing pull out (I also buy the Sun, Mirror, Express, Mail, Times and I).

They are very nice & i love the fact they give the issue number & date of the characters first apperance but i dont like enough to pay 12 quid a badge,im still struglling to keep up with the eaglemoss marvel & dc figurine collections & with the news they want even more money from comic fans .with 3 new collections, they want to start a marvel & dc chess set collection & a Batmobile collection now is not the time to be a fan or collector of comics memrobillia unless you have deep pockets :)

my mistake i see its 11 quid a badge on the ad :D

Think I'll wait a few years and get it on Ebay. 12 quid for a badge. Now that's what I call a rip-off.
I started to say something sensible but my parents took over my brain!

Characters old and new? Billy's the newest one on there, and he debuted in the 1960s. Funny that the address to apply to is in Chessington, the same town where Beanoland used to be.

I think I'll pass.

The Viz parodies of these kind of ads are great, aren't they?
