Dennis the Menace and Gnasher - the Pink Glove

Just before Christmas, I had bought a ten issue (non consecutive) run of the Beano from 1990-1992.

Amongst them, I had picked up the second installment of the "Pink Glove" storyline of Dennis the Menace and Gnasher. (dated 4/5/91)

I intend buying the issues on either side of this, but I would like to know how long this story idea ran.

The "Pink Glove"s caling card screams out "Softy", but it leads me to wonder if it was... Walter?

I'm not sure how long the series ran for, however I'm fairly sure it was one of the stories which was adapted from the comic for the Beano Video in 1993, and I also seem to recall reading that felneymike's first issue of the Beano was around the time of the Pink Glove serial (correct me if I'm wrong), so he might be able to remember how long it ran for.

Hmm... If I recall it was 4 but I could easily be wrong... It could've been 6 - it was a long time ago when I picked them up at a car boot sale...

I always thought it was only two parts!
I'm pretty sure the second Beano I got was the final part, so the first must have been the penultimate one, and I just assumed it was the first.

If it was 4-6 parts long then the Beano Video must have significantly shortened it, because I recognised the whole story... though the video did make a few small alterations.

Hmm... Maybe it was... It's just I swear that there were bits where Dennis kept having troubles and being visited by the Pink Glove... Maybe it was 3 then instead - although I recall getting four issues with the whole story...

Come to think of it though, Dennis was only two pages then so 3-4 parts isn't out of the question. And I do beleive I remember reading 3 parts now!

No hope in me finding them - my comic cupboard's a mess at the moment!

The issue I have is the one which starts with Dennis in bed having nightmares about his softy adversary, and wakes up to find his room has been turned into a softy shrine.

That strip mentions Pink Glove attacking him last week, and there is an earlier scene on the video. There's at least one part both before and after that one, making at least three in total.
