Thanks Peter. Nothing on the cards like that unfortunately but a new series of Rasher mini-strips should be starting soon.

It is Grandpa not Grandpaw..

Little Plum has a Beano character joining him...it just like the 70's all over again..

Quite a few Beano's at Tesco today - I've bought 1 for the nephews - they don't get distracted by plastic gifts if there is none. Instead they enjoy the content. The Xmas issue was thrown aside in favour of the joke gifts.

The 10 year old loved the Dandy Annual (including the Smasher resurrected) I bought him, he seemed to miss Dandy, once it was gone, but not too worried when it was available. The 8 year old is really into Beano now and this years Annual, he really enjoyed the survey and the thought of winning £400 too!!

That's good to hear. There'll be quite a bit of Smasher in the next Dandy Annual too.

I just got it & am so happy to see the comic nearing a return to form that i enjoyed as a kid with the return of nibblers gnashers tale, little plum & grandpa to come.although they could have returned tricky dicky back to something like the original. But are we really expected to believe that the dennis now is the son of the classic dennis we enjoyed as a kid with his dad now the grandad because as we know comic characters never age. Also im a bit confused by ball boy at the mo is he still a boy at school or a teenager now or an adult

They've retconned TV Dennis into the son of classic Dennis, yes. More believable than the new haircuts for his mum and dad, considering what they had until the redesign for the new TV series!

BB is still a schoolboy, if a little older, but the whole strip is now a satire on Premiership football and the crazier things that happen in it. It does work, but I don't think the Beano is the right place for it - more like one for the old football magazines.

I'm loving the return of old characters though disappointed grandpa only a quick strip but enjoyed seeing Tom & dick in bananaman (at least i think it was them) & baby face finlayson in little plum.

Glad its more like The Beano and classic characters are back...

And claimed it was a goal. Nigel should've drawn the motion line BEHIND the goalpost, not in front of it.

Dennis is a Menace. Claiming a goal when he missed isn't anything new to him!
(Psst: I drew it right but my inking assistant didn't!)

This is a guy who uses his own colourists instead of leaving the task to the Beano staff, but even so... :)

I don't think many Beano pages are coloured 'in-house' by the staff these days. Looking at the latest issue I'd say only Bash Street and (possibly) Gnasher's Tale are coloured in-house. The rest of us colour our own strips. (Or employ colourists, in Nigel's case.)
