Today's Scottish Sunday Mail has a free eight page tabloid sized Beano inside.

Yesterday's Irish Independent also had a free Beano.

I assume it is an attempt to boost sales of the comic and the newspaper as well, its an investment to entice more readers of both the comic and the newspaper I reckon.

The Sunday Mail used to have a pretty good comics section, but I am not so sure these days.

The Irish Independent comics are a mixture of the free ones given away with the Guardian and with the Belfast Telegraph a number of years ago, plus the 1986 Beano Summer Special reprinted in a summer special a few years ago (complete with the deliberate wrong colour caption)
