Beano with new editor...will it be changed!

I wonder if market research is happening and there are plans for a new Beano...like The Dandy relaunch......

It would be nice to see The Beano on glossy paper...it makes the colours look so good .......Nigel P and Steve Brights work look super on glossy paper.....

?1.30 isn't too much for better paper........

I'd also like to see more pages........42.....

oh well watch this space....

If it was going to happen it would have been a few months after The Dandy relaunch I think, but you never know. I think it's fine as it is, and the printing is great... most weeks!

Any increase in pages would have to be in multiples of 4. So it'd be 36, 40, 44, etc.

Call me an old reactionary if you like but I think the Beano is fine as it is. I'm not at all sure that the regeneration of the Dandy has been the success that Thomsons obviously hoped it would be and to drag the Beano off in the same direction I think would be a rash move. After all once you've updated something it is almost impossible to retrace your steps and go back to what you originally had. If we're not careful we'll end up with the weekly Dandy and Beano being things of the past and see them replaced with huge glossy coffee-table monthlies three-quarters full of ads and costing ?5 a time.

It hasn't changed much, has it? More Tom Paterson stories and more reprints. Still the same old Beano, really.

I think Beanomax was the new Beano...but they can afford to keep the old great brand.......so we can enjoy both worlds......can''t wait to read this..

Wishing no disrespect to Euan who steered the Beano well throughout many changes in the UK comics scene but I think the weekly is looking great under the new editor now. The new logo looks lively, putting Tom Paterson on occasional Denis strips is great, the choice of reprints (only three pages) is excellent, and the comic seems to hang together really well.

Must also mention Barrie Appleby, who is doing some of his best work in years on Roger the Dodger.

In short, it's back on my "must buy" list anyway.

Freds Bed and Hoot squad are my favourites....now if there could be a new series by the same artist.....

Pirates of the caribeano is too tame...now if Tom drew this...there will be lots of comic black humour/ violence......its a bit too tame for me...

Why on earth the new editor has dropped Trevor on Billy Whizz and forever...makes no sense.....his Billy is great fun.
