the laughing planet Tom Paterson

I loved this in the 70 years Beano and Dandy book...a-z

so I've bought the whole 52 issues of the Dandy of 1991 year......on ebay for 15 pounds..

Tom seemed to be at his peak at this time with so much witty detail......also his work in black and white worked well...in colour which is just as good But had less detail....1994 onwards...

Was a lot of laughing planet in 1991? heres hoping 8)

Also his Calamity James was more detailled in black and white....maybe having the whole comic in colour spoiled some of this!

Yes, the late 80s/early 90s were the golden age for Tom Patersons "Little Squelchy Thingies", crazy signs and asides: Calamity James stood head and shoulders above every other Beano strip as a work of dark insanity: it seemed "grubby" and nasty like an Underground comic.
