There's a very interesting item on eBay at the moment: issue 500 of The Dandy, from 1951.
I'll be bidding on it myself but in the spirit of fair play I thought I'd mention it here in case someone really wants it and didn't know it was up there.

Woops! Only 6 years late in reply to this, but, I bought my copy without seeing the cover from the Book and Magazine cover. I was really disapointed when I got it though! I was expecting a big birthday cake on the cover or atleast much more than just a simply "500th Issue!" reference at the top of the cover!
Mind you, if you get chance to get issue #499, there is a good looking half page colour advert about the new stories coming into the 500th birthday number. I think the new character was the every so slightly un-pc Sooty and his Magic Shooter (it was a story about a black african kid who had a trumpted like instrument that could turn people or animals into giants).
