Don't take much notice of that. There is no strip called "Blurp". What happened was that I had an image on my blog called 'blurP.jpg', - because it was a blurred image of the character who's name begins with P.

As I expected, someone nicked the image, saw the jpg name and they presumed they'd been very clever in sourcing the name of the character. They're wrong.

Blurp's actually a pretty good name for a strip - someone should use it!

Now I've created it by accident perhaps I will.

He wouldn't be an alien though. Too similar to Banx's 'Burp'.

It's caused discussion on the BC forum anyway. They were fooled by Nigel's non-logo too! :D

True - that's what sprang to my mind, too.

Sigh, over 20 years on and I still miss Oink!...

If only there was a humour comic around with a similar sense of fun and daftness.... oh hang on...

The typo is the least of the mistakes in that article. If they'd bothered to contact me I could have told them that I'm not doing a strip called "Blurp". Instead, they (and the source, Bleeding Cool) thought they were being clever by working out a scoop from the jpg name.

Some fans just take things too literally!

Unfortunately other websites are now repeating the "news" of "Blurp".

I find it funny that after all these 'scoops' from Digital Spy and Bleeding Cool, a major part of the relaunch has still not come out. Which is brilliant, as when you'll see the new issue you'll see how well this part fits with new The Dandy brand, and what direction they're going in.

Don't think I've said too much there, or have I? :censored:

No.
Or, to give a little more detail,
No, no it's not.

I'm hoping, probably beyond hope, that the top secret new ingredient is graphic novel type book collections.

Bet I'm wrong, it happens.
