I couldn't resist crossing my eyes to see if it was a natural stereogram... but no, Korky and company didn't become three dimensional.
Is it weird to have no interest in keeping or collecting free gifts?

Their spines seem to be in better condition then a lot of my Beano annuals from the 50s, 60s and 70s (I dont have any from the 40s). No bits missing and they seem to be still attached.

When buy olding annuals damage to the spine seems to be the main problem condition wise, well that and scribbles (The worse i've had was a 1980s Beano annual where alot of the strips where coloured in).

Anyone know who all the characters on the front cover are?
I've identified Korky, Keyhole Kate, The Grockle, Barney Boko, Smarty Grandpa, Freddy the Fearless Fly, Hungry Horace. The other two the girl I dont know and I dont think they ever named the guy who always stood by the Dandy logo.

The other girl is Meddlesome Matty drawn by Sam Fair and the guy by the Dandy title smoking a fag was simply known as "Bellboy"

According to the excellent Sparky File. Meddlesome Matty was a character in Sparky. I never realised she was in the Dandy previously but Sparky did use a lot of old DC Thomson characters in it's early days.

Yeah, Meddlesome Matty was, like Keyhole Kate and Hungry Horace, a recycled concept. All three were in Dandy, ended, then revived with new modern looks in Sparky (Kate's the only one of those who kept the same outfit and hairstyle). Sparky also revived Pansy Potter, originally from the Beano, and Peter Piper, from Magic.

Thanks I don't usually bother repairing them unless they really need it plus the scandalous prices these "professional" book binders charge it was much cheaper doing it myself
