Desperate Dan Surfin' Cowboy ??

I've just just returned from spending a good chunk of Saturday at the Cartoon Museum in London. A quirky little place definitely worth a visit especially at the moment to see original Dandy artwork.
The Dudley D Watkins drawings are simply stunning. It's great to see the detail up close and original size.
In one of the displays there is some DC Thomson 'concept' drawings with a red DC Thomson stamp saying 'Not for Publication' - bizarrely it looked to be a title panel for 'Desperate Dan the Surfin' Cowboy' - it's from 2001 and its a reversioned Dan, not quite the excellent Jamie Smart version, but close. Dan's in shorts, still wearing his hat, on a surfboard in a big wave.
Do you think they were really considering making Dan a surf dude??? !
