New Office Hours, good or bad?

Post by Magnet »

There is a new Office Hours strip in the Dandy now on the inside front page and on the inside and outside last page. On the first week I thought it was terrible as it was drawn by the guy that does the new Winker and Chester the Alien Chaser ages ago. Then the last issue's strip I thought was OK. The only thing I don't like about it now is the art style. What do you guys think of it?

I was never a great fan of office hours to begin with, but I guess in 2 months (when I catch up to the rest of you) there's going to be more of it...yay...

I'm not really fond of the hair colours, but the rest is okay. Ish.

Why oh why is this in the General forum and not the Dandy's own forum? Think before you post, guys...

Anyway. I'm not a fan of Stephen White's new strips. I kinda prefer his realisation of Dermot and the guys, but I'd rather the whole concept was binned.

I'm not sure the layout is easy for kids to follow or that it's a funny enough concept to deserve four pages. The Sparky People (a similar idea which ran in The Sparky) had more depth. I do like the artwork on Office Hours though.

In fact I thought today's issue had a strong "look" throughout. Maybe the change in editor is starting to show. I think having an issue without the abstract-looking Jak on the cover helps. (I like Wayne's art too, but the covers can get a bit samey. It'd be nice to see a rotation of characters and art styles on the front).
