It's 70th anniversary is in December 2007 so I'm sure it's safe for all of next year. As long as people can actually find it in the shops that is!

Necropost, I know, but it wasn't that safe, as it turned out... thanks to the Xtreme revamp, that anniversary passed by ignored.

Heh, a few weeks ago, I'd have said some things never change, since distribution seemed to be just as bad four years and a revamp later. But the newest revamp seems to have finally solved it. :)

If this is happening now then my home town of Workington (I bet you can't find it on a map) must be somekind of mecca for comic readers. Asda, Tesco, WH Smiths, local news agents, all have loads of Dandys. I mean, there must have literally be 20 #3510's in Tescos on Friday. So far the only place that hasn't stocked them was Morrisons.

Its the same where Ilive (Hamilton a town of about 47k - ok in a massive 10-15 mile catchment area of nearly 2million that includes Glasgow) but the towns villages just outside here have always been comic Mecc'as - I remember in the 70s a town about 4 miles south of Hamilton (about 16k population then now nearer 25k) had masses of Marvel ,DC,Atlas and other US comics in a variety of shops (all titles B&Ws etc) also allthe UK titles of the time and some UK / US undergrounds and Warrens etc great days for a comic fan almost everything on you doorstep - It's a a bit different now due to specialist shops but still you get all the comics (if you search all the shops) here & in sizeable numbers and the surrounding villages - loads of Dandy's in the Coops here but don't seem to be shifting that well (unless being restockd which is a possibility)

It's not happening now. The post you're replying to was made four years ago. Digifiend bumped it to 2010 with some cyber timey-wimey stuff.

Yeah, I was saying that it was still happening... until three weeks ago i.e. before the new revamp. My reply did admit it was a necropost, in case you didn't check the dates, guys.

It's really wierd, but once in about 1995-6 the local shop in my village stocked a few copies of one issue of Lady Justice by a small US publisher called Tekno Comix. Considering it's a chain shop (was Mace then) it seems even wierder.
I went in the shop 3-4 times just to look at it, before finally asking my mum to buy it. She refused (it was full of swearing and blood) but then bought it anyway, only to go through it with my granny complaining about every picture before giving it to me! I still have it somewhere.
I wonder if odd things like that still happen today, can't say i really look!
