I recall how sad I was when realising "The Cloak" was to depart "Smash" thankfully, in my favourite comic "Sparky" the `I.Spy` strip had not long commenced; and that soon surpassed "The Cloak" for me.

Some news of a massive reduction of my (now way too large) comic archive.

I intend keeping my Cheeky Weeklies, Sparky and Dandy comics. If anyone is interested,a (abbreviated) look of what is up for grabs can be found here

While I still have a good portion of my collection, the blog will continue.

This afternoon, I have part three of my look at the Whizzer and Chips mergers with the comics' merge with Whoopee! here.

Tonight, my blog pays a tribute to the 80th anniversary of the Dandy, with a photo gallery of some classic issues here

Edit: this page has now been updated to include the 2000th issue, the 2004 revamp, the Dandy Xtreme revamp and the 2010 revamp.

Nice to see that, Bruce. I'd stopped buying Buster during those years so hadn't seen it before. I'm trying to work out who drew that main cover image. It's not Reg Parlett (although the strip beneath it is his of course) and it doesn't look like Mike Lacey. Whoever did it has ghosted the various styles very well.
