Commando Credits

Post by philcom55 »

It's great to see that DC Thomson have finally decided to print full credits for Commando beginning with the latest four titles, including writer, artist and cover artist. Oddly enough these all appear on page one in a box within a hand-grenade design - just like the credits in Fleetway's Battle! I'm particularly pleased to see the writers getting their due as these have always been much harder to identify than artists.

Well done DCT - even if it did take almost 47 years! :D

Yes, I noticed this yesterday - decades too late but very good indeed to see!

Following on the Beano printing artist credits for selected strips, it looks rather like they've decided that artist credits are things that add value for those specifically interested, and don't distract for anyone else!

I think it's also crediting the writers that's the major breakthrough!

I noticed David Whitehead wrote The Buccaneers, I remember him from the 70s when he and his brother published British Comic World. Does he read these forums? Noticed Carlos Pino as well who used to draw horror strips in warren or dc mystery titles. Wasn't he connected with Vince Alcazar?
