Does Nigel Parkinson sleep?

Post by Big Simon »

I was just wondering - is Nigel Parkinson currently Britain's most prolific comic artist? In the latest Beano he has drawn 4 pages of 'Dennis the Menace' (including the wonderful cover), plus one and a half pages of 'Bea', and one page of 'Singled Out'. In the Dandy he regularly does 3 pages of Cuddles and Dimples, plus this week a double page Cuddles and Dimples card game feature. Total pages = 11.5. Fantastic work, but does the poor man ever sleep? Or does he just draw with his arm in a sling? :)

It's an open secret in the comics industry that Nigel is actually the world's first cloned comic artist. His full name is "The Collective Known as Nigel Parkinson" and at last count there were 20 of them. And each one has eight arms and is ambidextrous.

And I do it all standing on my head.
Lew, wake me up at Bristol and I'll buy you an orange juice.

Nigel, how come you now do "Singled Out" when you are very good at doing The Bash Street Kids in Dave Sutherland's style?

It's my job, drawing, if that's what they want, that's what I give 'em.
