I haven't seen that ad before but I'm guessing it's Champion? (Fleetway, about 1966?)

It's for Jet.
Re: Guess The Comic From This Ad?
Well done Grumpy and Raven,
Raven I thought you might get it as you know what Comics I'm going through at the momemnt so you know the date.
Yes it was for 'Jet' 1971
No less then 4 different ads in 'Score 'n' Roar comic.

Re: Guess The Comic From This Ad?
I have the Score 'n' Roar from April 24th 1971 with that very teaser!
Re: Guess The Comic From This Ad?
How many Score 'n' Roars do you have?Raven wrote:I have the Score 'n' Roar from April 24th 1971 with that very teaser!
Re: Guess The Comic From This Ad?
Probably about twenty. Not enough. You can never have enough Score 'n' Roars.
Re: Guess The Comic From This Ad?
Their was only 41 Issues(their should have been 100's) of Score 'n' Roar, but it had 13 Annuals, surely if a comic had thay many Annuals the comic must have been doing OK.Raven wrote:Probably about twenty. Not enough. You can never have enough Score 'n' Roars.
Jet 22 Issues and only 1 Annual
Thunder 22 Issues and 3 Annuals

IPC sometimes found that although a weekly had folded, the annuals sold quite well. Several IPC comics lived on as annuals and holiday specials well after their weekly editions had ceased.steelclaw wrote: Their was only 41 Issues(their should have been 100's) of Score 'n' Roar, but it had 13 Annuals, surely if a comic had thay many Annuals the comic must have been doing OK.

I think Score 'n' Roar has the record of having the lease amount of comics but the most Annuals.

Hurricane must run it pretty close, though. I think that ran for less than a year but the annuals went on for ages!
Re: Guess The Comic From This Ad?
Same goes for DC Thomson judging by Beezer (comic ended 1993, annuals ended with the 2003 edition) and Bunty (comic ended 2001, last annual dated 2009).Lew Stringer wrote:IPC sometimes found that although a weekly had folded, the annuals sold quite well.
